After 12 years of selling the G2—one of the most successful dry fly fishing rods in the country— Telluride Outside was on the verge of releasing the latest fly rod from Scott: the G Series. They were on the hunt for something far more special than a product demo.

GOAL

To mark the launch, Telluride Outside brought us in to create a video that would not only function as a product demo to show off the latest product advances, but would evoke the ethos of what brings fishermen to the peace of fly fishing.

ANSWER

We brought a cinematic approach to showcase the beauty of the rod and demonstrate its versatility on the water. We not only timed the promotion to release at 2017 ICAST in Orlando, FL—the largest sport fishing trade show in the world—but we won Best in Show.

"Scott G Series fly rods are field tested and reviewed by Telluride Angler. The 2017 G Series has been completely redesigned with new tapers and new ferrules for a lighter, more stable, more even casting edition of this classic Scott fly rod. Scott Pro Staff member Troy Youngfleish demonstrates the proficiency of the Scott G on the demanding Frying Pan River of SW Colorado. " The client wanted to produce a product video announcing the all new fly rod, replacing its predecessor after 12 years. The video was crafted to be informative, emotional, and sales driven.
